Dear Wife and children
I will inform you with a few lines that I am well at this time and hope when these lines come to hand may find you all well we all have plenty to eat since we come her (here) coffe (coffee) and shugar (sugar) at present John Boley is sick but is getting better today I want you to Write to me how you all are as soon as you can there is about a thousan(d) mustered her (here) this evening and we dont (don’t) expect to get off her (here) We are going to frtafy (fortify her (here) I will rite (write) to you in a few days what we are going to do I cant (can’t ) tll (tell) you more nuthing (nothing) much ant _____ please send this to Ann.
